The Central Area Planning Commission has set the hearing date for Windsor Village’s appeal of the Director of Planning’s approval of a Certificate of Compatibility for:
“The renovation of an existing 3-story, 18-unit apartment building, at 849-853 Lucerne Boulevard, and development of a 4-story, 14-unit condominium building on the abutting vacant lot, at 859 Lucerne Boulevard, creating a 32-unit condominium complex.”

This is our last opportunity to stop this development from being built as proposed. Loss of this appeal would be a blow to any future attempts to enforce the Windsor Village Historic Preservation Plan to prevent developers from building incompatible projects anywhere within our neighborhood. We need all of our neighbors, whether you live on Lucerne or not, to show support for our appeal of this project’s approval as we fight for a more compatible development here as well as every other future development in Windsor Village.
As we approach the appeal date, we will send out reminders and options for transportation and free parking to the hearing on the 26th at City Hall. You are not required to speak at the hearing, but you will have a brief opportunity during the public comments if you wish. The more neighbors we have in support of our community, the greater impact we will have on the Commission’s decision.
