Windsor Village gets historic status

Wednesday, October 20, 2010

Today the LA City Council unanimously voted to approve the ordinance to make Windsor Village a Historic Preservation Overlay Zone (HPOZ). Next stop: the Mayor’s desk for signature.
Many thanks to all the residents who volunteered their efforts in fundraising, completing the historic survey, representing WV in meetings with City and Planning officials downtown, and supporting the multitude of efforts throughout the community over these past four years. We did it!
Thanks also to City Councilman Herb Wesson and his dedicated staff (Andrew Westhall and Sylvia Lacy) as well as our committed colleagues in the Planning Department (Blake Lamb and Courtney Schoenwald) and Ken Bernstein at the Office of Historic Resources.
